A manuscript containing various extracts, with copious information concerning their souces. The extracts include material from Henry Salesbury's Grammar as printed by T. Salesbury in 1593 (pp. 55-70) and extracts from Greek, Latin and English writers (pp. 71-110); the manuscript also contains a copy of a letter from Sir William Boswell to Archbishop William Laud taken from the Cotton MSS (p. 34); an account of Edmwnd Prys (p. 133); and an account of Edward Richard of Ystrad Meurig (pp. 134-136).

A manuscript volume with the title 'AMRYW' in gold lettering on the spine. Written throughout by William Owen [-Pughe], the manuscript contains transcripts of parts of two older manuscripts, the one in the hand of Lewis Morris [B.M. Add. MS 14908, ff. 36-58], and the other in the hand of Owen Jones, 'Owain Myfyr' [B.M. Add. MS 15020, pp. 1-5, 7-12, 27-8, 33- 5, 44-5, 52-8, 67-70, 93-107, 109-15, 117-23]. The first item in the present manuscript, pp. 1-39, is a transcript of the Statute of Rhuddlan, 'Ystatus Rhuddlan yw hon. Holograph letters from [the Rev.] Walter Davies (Gwallter Mechain) to Daniel Jones, Wrexham, 182[ ]-1825 (2) (points relating to the publishing of the writer's two-volume edition [?of the poetical works of Huw Morus, viz. Eos Ceiriog, sef Casgliad o Ber Ganiadau Huw Morus . . . (Yn Ngwrecsam, 1823)], the writer's doubts as to the wisdom of publishing an unrevised edition of the metrical psalms of Edmwnd Prys, a suggestion that opinions on this point be sought through the columns of Y Gwyliedydd, criticisms that some of Prys's lines were stiff ('anystwyth hynod') and did not lend themselves to any measure, references to Titus Lewis's edition of Prys's psalms [Pigion o Salmau Canu yn ôl cyfansoddiad Edmwnd Prys (Caerfyrddin, 1810)], the belief that Lewis had introduced some changes into some of the psalms), and [John] Painter [printer, Wrexham], 1821-1825 (2) (points relating to the publishing of vol.
