An epitaph for Sir Watkin Williams-Wynn, 3rd bart, together with genealogical tables showing the descent of: the Powell family of Broughton; the Blewart family; and Robert Dudley, earl of Leicester and baron of Denbigh (d.1588).

The file comprises letters to Catherine Roberts, her son, John, and her grand-daughter, Mary, concerning family, alleged mishandling of goods, and the death of Sir Watkin Williams Wynn in 1749.

Letters addressed simply to 'Madam', all of which appear to have been intended for members of the Myddelton and Lloyd families and their associates. Many of them were meant for Mary Myddelton, but others were clearly not, and in most cases it is not clear which are which, even when annotated in Mary Myddelton's own hand (which sometimes appears on letters addressed to people other than herself); some letters are from Mary Myddelton herself; others mention her in the third person or date from after her death; and others are copies or drafts written on a sheet of paper from a previous letter, so that the real intended addressee is not always the apparent one.

Letters to other identified recipients, predominantly members of the Fownes, Myddelton and FitzHugh families and households, and their representatives and associates, together with those of the Lloyd family after Rev. Thomas Lloyd moved to Plas Power in 1720; included are letters from William Fownes, Richard Myddelton, Mary Myddelton and Roger Mostyn; as well as a letter from [Philip, duke of] Wharton, to his sister Lady Jane Holt, 1726, expressing his concern for his family in the light of his appointment as Jacobite ambassador to the Holy Roman Empire; a letter from John Yorke with military news from 'camp between Balaklava and Sebastopol', October 1854, and a copy of his letter from 'Balaklava Harbour'; and two letters from E.J. Stracey from Balaclava, October [1854], and 'camp before Sebastopol', December 1854, concerning military affairs and the condition of the army.

A small group of holograph letters of the family of Williams Wynn of Wynnstay:- a letter, 16 January, 1717/18, from Wat[kin] Williams (aft. Sir Watkin Williams Wynn, 3rd bart.), from Westminster, to his father Sir William Williams, 2nd bart., at Wynnstay (the writer's visit to Baron Price about 'our Denbigh business', Baron Price's son is to have the lordship of Denbigh, the writer's decision not to send his coach horses down, a request to hasten 'Ned Wynn' with money, news of the King and the Prince, Sir Thomas Hanmer is the greatest man in England with the Prince); a letter, 21 June, 1747, from [Sir] Watkin Williams Wynn, 3rd bart., from Wynnstay, to Mr. Griffiths, apothecary, in Bedford Street near Covent Garden, London (support for Sir Thomas Clargies and Sir John Philips in the Westminster election); a letter, 21 October, ----, from [Sir] Watkin Williams Wynn, 4th bart., to John Evans, Esq., at Wynnstay (Mr. Wyatt's allocation, the writer's return to Wynnstay, etc.); a letter, 26 May, 1789, from Charlotte Williams Wyn, wife of the 4th bart., from Richmond, to John Evans, Esq., at Wynnstay (glass for new rooms, a flood-board to new cascade, money matters, a new malt room, Sir Watkin's health); and the blank dorse of a letter addressed 'To The Members of the Cycle'.

A pedigree of the family of Lloyd of Blaen-y-ddol and of Llwyn-y-maen, parish of Oswestry, found in the pedigree book of Plas-y-ward in the custody of Mr Simon Lloyd of Plas-yn-dre at Bala; a declaration (unsigned) from Salop Gaol, 24 August, 1716, disclaiming an accusation of over-charging made by one Bevan, the undertaker's boy, in connection with the burial at Canterbury of young [Edward] Vaughan of Llangedwyn, who died at Paris on 12 January, 1699/1700; and articles of agreement, 10 November, 1719, between Watkin Williams Wynn of Wynnstay, esq., and Robert Wynne of Ruthin, statuary, for the erection, for a sum of £450, of three marble monuments in the chancel of Ruabon church in memory of Henry Wynne, esq., of Sir John Wynn, kt and bart, and of the Lady Jane Wynn.

Letters and papers, including a petition, circa 1722, from Sir John Philipps suggesting the preferment of Owen Philipps to the rectory of Walwins Castle, Pembrokeshire, a petition, 1745, signed by Sir John Philipps, Thomas Carew, Sir Watkin Williams Wynn, and George Heathcote, to the members of the House of Commons, requesting their attendance at the House on January 16, 1746, and a Return of the number of Men that can be contained, in the Different Towns in the Counties of Carnarvon, Anglesea, Montgomery, Merioneth and Denbigh under the superintendance of Major Genl.
