Rob' and R. Jones).

A volume containing a schedule compiled, [early 1820s] (Watermark 1820), with additions and notes, [c. 1844]-[c. 1869], in the hand of W. W. E. Wynne, Peniarth, of the title deeds, 1283-1842, of the Brogyntyn estate, relating to properties in Merionethshire (ff. 1-34 verso), Caernarvonshire (ff. 39 verso-64 verso), Shropshire (ff. 70 verso-101 verso), Denbighshire (ff. 107-112 verso), Montgomeryshire (ff. 119-122 verso) and Cornwall (f. 123 verso), and of wills, 1540-1774, relating to Merionethshire, Caernarvonshire, Shropshire, Denbighshire and Flintshire (ff. 130-138).
Papers found loose in the volume have been tipped in on ff. 139-144.

A printed sale catalogue 'of the library of the late Francis Smith, esq., to which is added another valuable collection ... which will be sold by auction, by Mr Evans, at his house, No. 93 Pall Mall ... 1829'. The catalogue contains the books sent by W. W. E. Wynne (see Peniarth MS 549).

A volume containing memoranda, 1627-1639, in the hand of Lewis Anwyl of Parc, Merionethshire, and Cemais, Montgomeryshire, with additions, 1648-1656, in the hands of his daughter Catherine Owen (née Anwyl) (f. 12) and her husband William Owen of Brogyntyn, Shropshire, and Clenennau, Caernarvonshire (ff. 11 verso-12, 13), recording family births, marriages and deaths, and other events, and including an account by Lewis Anwyl of the death, 14 May 1637, of his first wife Frances, daughter of Sir William Jones, Castellmarch, Caernarvonshire, with a description of her virtues (ff. 7-11).
Notes in the hand of W. W. E. Wynne of Peniarth, identifying the writers of the additional memoranda, occur in pencil on ff. 11 verso-12, 13; a note in ink by him questioning the age given on f. 158 verso of Edward Herbert, Cemais, is tipped in as f. 159a. A transcript of the manuscript was published by Wynne in 'The Anwill Manuscript', Montgomeryshire Collections, 9 (1876), 357-364.

A scrapbook, 1867-1882, begun by Evelyn Phillip Shirley of Ettington Park, Warwickshire, following his visit in August 1867 to his friend W. W. E. Wynne of Peniarth, Merioneth.
The volume initially contained ten photographs of Peniarth and its environs (ff. 11, 19, 21, 23, 25, 29, 31, 33, 37, 40) with numerous further photographs (and photographs of prints) being added showing other local views and related houses such as Glyn (ff. i verso-47 passim). Also included are leaves from W. W. E. Wynne's Pedigree of the Family of Wynne of Peniarth… (London, 1872), with hand-painted coats of arms added (ff. 2 recto-verso, 12 recto-verso, 20 recto-verso, 22 recto-verso, 24 recto-verso, 26 recto-verso), and additional manuscript notes by Wynne (ff. 13-18); four letters to Shirley from W. W. E. Wynne, [1868]-1877 (ff. i verso, 3-10, 34-35); three letters, June-July 1880, from W. R. M. Wynne (ff. 41-44) and E[dward] Breese (ff. 45-46), following W. W. E. Wynne's death, with copies of Breese's obituary of Wynne (ff. 50-52); and papers relating to the building and consecration of the Wynne Memorial Church at Bryncrug, 1880-1882 (ff. 53-59).

Facsimile of letters, 1601-1738, mainly of the Owen family of Peniarth and the Nanney family of Merionethshire. The correspondents include Lewis Owen (1625-1691); Richard Owen (d. 1714); Lewis Owen (d. 1729), son of Richard Owen; Elizabeth Owen, mother of the latter Lewis Owen; Margaret Owen, wife of the latter Lewis Owen and daughter of Sir William Williams, second bart, of Llanforda; Jane Bulkeley (d. 1765), daugher of Lewis and Margaret Owen; Hugh Nanney; and Richard Nanney. Other correspondents include Robert Vaughan, Hengwrt, and there are letters from Margaret Owen to her father, Sir William Williams.
There is an introductory note by William W[atkin] E[dward] Wynne at the beginning of the volume, which states that "all the letters addressed to Sir William Williams, Bart., were found in the muniment room at Wynnstay, and were given to me ... in October 1833 by the Rt Honble C. W. Williams Wynn". There is a reference in the note to Dr Samuel Johnson in relation to the education of girls and women.

Printed pedigrees of the family of Eure of Easby, Ingleby, Witton and Malton; the descent of Robert Aglionby Slaney, esq., from King Edward III, and of his daughter, Mary Slaney, who married W. W. E. Wynne, together with a proof copy with corrections in the hand of W. W. E. W.; a manuscript pedigree of the Foley family; and verses entitled 'The Shropshire Bouquet'.

Genealogical papers relating to the Owen family of Clenennau and Brogyntyn, which include a memorial inscription to Sir John and Dame Jonet Owen [at Penmorfa] commissioned under the terms of Ellen Owen's will [1702]; copies of monumental inscriptions, baptisms and burial records of Catherine Owen (nee Anwyl) of Llanddyn (d. 1685) and several of her children at Llangollen; and a copy of an inscription to John, infant son of Sir Robert Owen at Llanfihangel-y-traethau. The file also contains 'Deductions of Genealogies and Heraldry' by Walter Davies ('Gwallter Mechain'), dedicated to John Owen of Penrhos by the author [pre-1823], showing the ancient lineage of the Owens of Penrhos and including the trial of their ancestor, Sir John Owen of Clenennau; a letter to Mary Jane Ormsby concerning the fate of Arthur Owen and heraldry of the Maurice family among other topics, 1811; pedigrees showing the marriages of Sir William Maurice and the family of John ap Meredydd; and extracts from papers of W.W.E. Wynne at Peniarth, relating to the history of Brogyntyn house and the Lacon family, 1879, 1882.

A manuscript containing miscellanea by Richard Llwyd (1752-1835), with a few notes by Angharad Llwyd (1780-1866); Notes on the Registers and Churchwardens' Accounts of St. Michael's, Chester, by J. P. Earwaker, 1890; a letter from W. W. E. Wynne (1801-1880) to Angharad Llwyd; particulars of the sale of the manor of Kinmel, 1784; genealogical tables and papers relating to the family of Jones, Penrallt, Abergele; calendar notes of deeds relating to Denbighshire and Flintshire (many of the original deeds being now in NLW); etc.

A manuscript containing transcripts by Angharad Llwyd (1780-1866) of North Wales pedigrees, of a letter, 1656, from Edmund Meyrick (1636-1713), Ucheldre, to his brother-in-law Robert Vaughan (1592?-1666), Hengwrt, of the arms of several English families, and of miscellaneous correspondence, 17-18 cents, etc. The manuscript also contains letters to Angharad Llwyd and various other miscellanea.

Wyn o Faesyneuadd Esqr . . .') by Elis Cadwalader, written in an eighteenth century hand (cf. Pen. MS 239, p. 349); 'Map of a house & garden at the Bont in the Parish of Llanbrynmair, 1850'; autobiographical details put together by the Reverend Samuel Roberts, 'S.R.', c. 1852, for John Crockford, Esq., Critic office, 29 Essex St., Strand, including a list of his published works in Welsh and in English (holograph copy); extracts by W. A facsimile manuscript in two parts mostly in the hand of William Watkin Edward Wynne. The first part comprises copies (some printed) of charters, public records, deeds, pedigrees, poetry, etc. of Merionethshire and Caernarvonshire interest, some of which are taken from transcripts made by Robert Vaughan, Hengwrt. A transcript by David Richards ('Dafydd Ionawr') of a letter sent 23 July 1767 from Brunswick, Virginia by Goronwy Owen to Richard Morris, London, and also of the elegy on Lewis Morris which accompanied it; a sketch, made for W[illiam] W[atkin] E[dward] Wynne, 1839, of the seal of the Corporation of Harlech, 1559.
