A small eighteenth century manuscript containing a few 'englynion', etc., by John Griffith 'o Landdyfnan yn Môn', Owen Gruffydd, J. Rhydderch, Griffith Lloyd, and anonymous authors, with two anecdotes in Welsh. The name 'L. Morris' occurs beneath the anecdotes and the manuscript appears to be for the most part in the hand of Lewis Morris ('Llewelyn Ddu o Fôn').

A miscellany compiled partly in his eighty-fifth year (1760) by John Davies or David of Pentre Vidoc (or Foelas) and containing eleven psalms in 'cywydd' metre by Sion Tudur, 'cywyddau' by Humphrey Thomas ('Bardd yr Ennig') and others unnamed, an 'awdl gyffes' by Sion Phylip, 'englynion' by Edward Morys, Richard Jones, and Owen Gruffydd, 'tribanau', a transcript of a Welsh historical chart (beginning with a synopsis of the 'Promptuarium Biblia' and continued to the reign of Richard III) compiled by John Gruffudd Eyton (1513), anecdotes, and holograph 'englynion' addressed to John Davies by T. E. Nant. (i.e., Thomas Edwards, 'Twm or Nant').

A volume of 'englynion' entitled 'llyfr wiliam Siôn o fryn saeth', and partly in the hand of David Jones ('Dewi Fardd'). Many of the 'englynion' are unattributed, and the few poets represented in the volume are William Cynwal, Lewis Glyn Cothi, Ellis ap Llew[elyn], Rhys ap Niclas, Sion Philip, Dr. Sion Siengcin, Lewis Menai, Owen Jones ('o dref machynlleth'), Sion Tudur, Thomas Eufan, Ed'd ap Raff, Wm. A miscellaneous volume (496 pp.; original pagination incorrect) in the autograph of Owen Williams (1790-1874; 'Owain Gwyrfai'), c. 1841-67, of which the main contents are pedigrees of North Wales families transcribed from manuscripts of the Reverend D. Ellis [Cricieth] and Owen Gruffydd, Llanystumdwy and from other sources (with some additions to Owen Williams's own day); transcripts of twenty-four letters, 1752-7 and 1767, from Goronwy Owen to Richard Morris from a (?)manuscript of Mr Loyd [sic], Plasmeini, Festiniog and of eleven letters, 1752-4, from Goronwy Owen to William Morris ('D.S. Dyma lythyrau'r Gwiliedydd im tyb i. O.W.', but this seems doubtful), and extracts transcribed from the introduction to Lewis Morris's 'Celtic Remains' and from [John Reynolds, A Display of Herauldry (1739)] ('Yr hanesion canlynol a dynwyd o hen lyfr achau a argraffwyd o ddeutu amser Cromwel o waith Reinols'). There is a rough index at the beginning and end of the volume. J. H. Davies has written the following note in pencil on the fly-leaf: 'This is the Llyfr Coch which O[wen] W[illiams] always carried under his arm at Eisteddfodau & Literary meetings. It was originally bound in a red cover.'.

A volume of poetry, chiefly in strict metre, written largely in the autograph of Owen Gruffydd (?1638-1730) between 1677 and 1692. Most of the poems are by Owen Gruffydd, but the following poets are also represented: Robin Ddu, Dafydd Gorllech, John Roger, Sion Phylip, Sypyn Cyfeiliog, Dafydd ap Gwilym, William Phylip, Gyttyn Owain ('medd rhai' 'Meredydd ap Rhys' in another hand), Ifan Tew Prydydd, Huw ab Iva[n], Bedo Brwynllysg, Edmwnt Prys, Edward Morys, Matthew Owen and Hugh Morys. There is a list of contents at the beginning and the poems have been correspondingly numbered. There are 'penillion' by William Elias on p. 309b. John Jones ('Myrddin Fardd') has supplied a lacuna in the manuscript from Peniarth MS 124. Almost all the 'cywyddau' in this manuscript, but not the 'englynion' and the poems in free metre, are to be found also in Peniarth MS 124, which is later in date than the present manuscript and written in a different hand. The pages have been numbered by Dr J. Gwenogvryn Evans and his report on the manuscript is in J. Gwenogvryn Evans MS 70a (under 'M[yrddin] F[ardd] 5'). If the information given on pp. 1 and 50 is correct, Owen Gruffydd was born in 1638. A note at the end (p. 238) of his elegy to Sir Roger Mostyn (d. 1690) states that the poet received fifty shillings for the 'cywydd'. There is a folio missing after p. 36 and another is wanting before p. 53.

A composite volume compiled by John Jones ('Myrddin Fardd') containing press cuttings, pedigrees (transcribed in part from manuscripts of Owen Griffith, Llanystumdwy, Ebenezer Thomas, ('Eben Fardd') and Ellis Owen, Pant Phylip, Llangelynin), and miscellaneous papers, including pedigrees in various hands and letters, some pasted in or inset, others loose. The correspondents include Owen Evans, Broom Hall, 1875, R. O. Williams, Bangor, 1846 (copy), Edw. H. Owen, Ty Coch, [18]93 and 1896, and Jno. E. Griffith, Bangor, [19]10. There is material, chiefly press cuttings, concerning Richard Lloyd Edwards, Nanhoron, Rowland Jones, Broom Hall (also known as Rowland Jones, Weirglodd Fawr) and his father, Rowland Jones the philologist, Sir Love Jones Parry, Madryn, and others. One or two items in the volume appear to be in the autograph of Ebenezer Thomas ('Eben Fardd') and the loose papers include a pedigree of Ucheldref, Gwyddelwern in an early eighteenth century hand (damaged). Another pedigree headed 'Llannerch fawr' is dated 'Machynlleth Feb. 1861' and is connected with the Reverend John Evans (1815-91), afterwards archdeacon of Merioneth (?transcript), and the volume also contains one or two notes in the autograph of Jonathan Jones, Caernarvon. A miscellany of prose and verse, collected and copied, in part, by Owen Jones (Meudwy Môn), editor of Ceinion Llenyddiaeth Gymreig, from various printed and manuscript sources. It contains notes on customs and folk-lore, a pryddest entitled 'Golygdrem o ben Bryn Cae Mawr, Penmachno', by Owen Gethin Jones, englynion and cywyddau by many of the earlier bards together with some by Edward Morus and Owen Gruffydd; extracts from the 'Iolo Manuscripts', from Celtic Remains by Lewis Morris, and from the works of Thomas Pennant, triads, pedigrees of North Wales families, letters from Goronwy Owen to William and Richard Morris, etc.
