A letter, 23 March 1948, from Evan Roberts, evangelist and leader of the 1904-5 religious revival, to Idwal Evans, concerning Idwal's state of health. Idwal was the brother of the Rev. Sidney Evans who was Evan Roberts's brother-in-law and also a prominent figure in the revival.

A manuscript copy, dated 1 January 1895, of 'Y Llong Losg', a Welsh translation by Lewis William Lewis (Llew Llwyfo) of the poem 'The Ship on Fire' by Henry Russell. It was written for, and given to, Miss Anne Mary Williams, Tyddyn Rhyddallt, Llanrug, as a New Year gift.

Four letters and a card, 1969-1971, from the artist and writer Brenda Chamberlain to Meic Stephens, mainly concerning her contribution to his book, Artists in Wales (Llandysul, 1971) (ff. 38, 40-43), together with one letter from Chamberlain, 1970, addressed to Elan Closs Roberts, relating to the Welsh Arts Council's 'Dial-a-poem' project (f. 39).

Seven letters, 1935-1949, from T. H. Parry-Williams to E. Tegla Davies, concerning literary and personal matters.
They include discussions in January 1938 of Tegla's contribution to Ystorïau Heddiw, ed. by T. H. Parry-Williams ([Aberystwyth], 1938) (ff. 81-82), and on 8 April 1943 of their adjudication of the National Eisteddfod Prose Medal (ff. 83-84).

Transcripts of letters and memoranda, both typescript and handwritten, 1936-1937, in support of Saunders Lewis, dismissed from his post as senior lecturer in the Department of Welsh, University College of Swansea, following the Penyberth arson of September 1936.
They include a manuscript draft (ff. 121-123) and partial typescript copy (f. 125), [1937], of a letter sent on behalf of the College's teaching staff to the Executive Council [?of the Association of University Teachers], expressing support for Lewis; a typescript copy of the letter, 20 October 1936, from Principal C. A. Edwards to Lewis, informing him of the decision to suspend him from his duties pending the termination of legal proceedings (f. 120), with a manuscript copy of the same, [1937] (f. 119); a typescript copy of part of a letter, 15 February 1937, to accompany a petition by members of the academic staff calling for his reinstatement (f. 124); and a note by Stephen J. Williams summarising Lewis' literary and political work, published in May 1937 in Universities Review, 9 (1936-37), 169 (f. 126).

Two letters, 1983, from the novelist Alexander Cordell, Isle of Man, to Ted Spanswick, [?Pontypridd], outlining his views on socialism and the working class and declining to give his support to a proposed left-wing periodical.

Postcard, 1939, containing a verse in Welsh, entitled 'In tempore belli', in the hand of T. Gwynn Jones, sent to his neighbours and close friends, Mr and Mrs William Williams, Aberystwyth.

Transcripts, [?1815], in a single hand, of documents relating to a proposed address by the people of Caernarvonshire to the Marquis of Anglesey to congratulate him on his part in the Battle of Waterloo.
Included are an appeal to William Griffith Oakeley, High Sheriff of Caernarvonshire, to call a meeting, and his reply, dated 10 July 1815, appointing a County Meeting on the 17 July (f. 139); minutes of a meeting held by the bailiffs, burgesses and other inhabitants of the borough of Caernarfon on 10 July 1815 (ff. 140-141) and a copy of the address voted for at that meeting (ff. 141-142).

A letter, 15 October 1963, in Welsh, from the novelist Selyf Roberts to Gwilym Rhys Roberts, secretary of the Literature Committee of the 1965 National Eisteddfod in Montgomeryshire, arguing the importance of giving prose equal status to poetry in the National Eisteddfod's competitions and prize ceremonies.

A letter, 7 May 1910, in Welsh, from Anna Evans, of Bwlch-llan, Cardiganshire, a passenger on board the RMS Lusitania, docked at Liverpool, to her parents.
She describes her experiences on board ship and refers also to the death of Edward VII the previous day (f. 163 verso).

Two letters addressed to the novelist Berta Ruck, from Rose Macaulay, 10 April 1928 (f. 31), and Mary Renault, 25 May 1940 (f. 32), both discussing personal and literary matters.

Four letters, 1947-1950, from Augustus John to the scholar and colonial administrator, Sir Ronald Storrs, regarding arrangements for a proposed portrait of the latter.

A letter, 22 November 1889, from Walburga, Lady Paget, to Frances Power Cobbe commenting on their anti-vivisection campaigns.
She also refers to her daughter, Lady Windor, later the Countess of Plymouth (f. 1 recto-verso).

A letter, dated 3 May 1972, from John Roberts, National Eisteddfod organiser (f. 68), and a Plaid Cymru circular letter, 7 June 1972 (f. 69), both addressed to Kate Roberts, and with notes on the verso of each folio in her hand relating to the early history of Calvinistic Methodism in Caernarvonshire, in particular Clynnog and Rhostryfan.
The notes appear to be taken mainly from W. Hobley, Hanes Methodistiaeth Arfon: [Vol. 1] Dosbarth Clynnog (Caernarfon, 1910).

A collection of miscellaneous letters and papers, [early 18 cent.]-1998, purchased or received by donation from various sources by the National Library of Wales during the period 1997-2004, and bound as one volume. A list of contents has been placed at the front of the volume (ff. i-viii).

A mock probate inventory, [late 18 cent.], of the goods of 'Morgan ap Raynard Maddock of Glamorgan' (ff. 36-37); and satirical verses in Welsh on the followers of Howel Harris (f. 37 verso).

An elegy, [1835] (watermark 1833), on Lieut. William Wynne Jones of the Third Native Infantry, who died at Nasirabad, India, on 11 September 1835, composed by his cousin, John Vaughan Lloyd, vicar of Hope, Flintshire.
