Letters mainly to Roger Salesbury of Rug, and also to John Lloyd, Madam Salesbury and Hugh Jones of Ddol, 1695-1717. The correspondents are Gabriel Salesbury, David Lloyd, Roger Green in Oswestry and London, John Williams of Chester, William Hughes of Holywell, Charles Bayliffe and Robert Foulkes of Wrexham. Most of the letters discuss the lawsuits in which Roger Salesbury was involved and the previous financial accounting of the Rug estate by David Lloyd. The letters give details of Roger Salesbury’s own family settlement and a lawsuit with Edward Vaughan of Llwydiarth; and the case against Roger Salesbury brought by his nieces, Elizabeth and Margaret, concerning payments due to them under the will and settlement of their father, Owen Salesbury. Further topics include the will of Bishop Gabriel Goodman and bequests to charity therein, 1716; and the mortgage and possible purchase of Allington, 1717.
