Leases, agreements and revocations of former leases relating to several lead mines in the parishes of Llanfihangel Genau’r-glyn, Langynfelyn and Llanbadarn Fawr, and the townships of Elerch, Ceulan a Maes-mawr and Henllys, 1744-[1910]. They refer mainly to mines under the farms of Tal-y-bont, Tyhen, Allt y Crib, Berthllwyd, Penybank, and Cefnerglodd, Camdwr Mawr, Camdwr Bach, Camdwr Bitty, Bwlchygarreg, Brynmelyn, Lluestygrafie, Dolrhyddlan, Waunhesgog, Caeneiniog, Bwlch Glas, Alltddu, and Ffosfudr, some of which constituted the Henfwlch mines (1851). Others mention Nant y Cagal, 1744, Tyddyn Evan Gwynn Griffith and Tyddyn y Wern otherwise Bron Llygad Hwrdd, 1765, Llwynadda-goch, 1854, Gwarygraig, 1868, Tyhen, 1872, and Llwynysguborwen [1910]. The earliest is a memorandum for the Flintshire Company to surrender mine works to Thomas Pryse, 1744. The lessors are mostly members of the Pryse family, to John Jones of Aberystwyth, Philip Pugh of Tuglyn and David Morgan the younger of Tal-y-bont, Owen Hugh the elder and the younger, and Hugh Hughs of Tre’r-ddol, William Williamson of Greenfield, Flintshire, John Pryce Eyton of Kinsale, other members of the Williamson and Eyton families, William Lloyd of Cilwrgan and John Davies of Newtown, Montgomeryshire, Samuel Fearon, Peter Stainsby and George White, directors of the Llangynfelyn Mining Company, Henry Francis of Aberystwyth, George Batters of London, Richard Johnson Lawton, Samuel Auchmuty Dickson of Bond Street, Thomas William Wilkinson of London, James Lofthouse of Manchester, Richard Hobson of Leeds and Edwin Green of Havercroft, Wakefield, William Henry Punchard of Saville Place, Bow Road, Middlesex, Edmund Edwards of Northlake, Surrey, the Allt-y-Crib Silver Lead Mining Company, Camdwr Bach Mining Company Limited, Major General James Thomas Harries of Campden Hill, Thomas Molyneux of Earlestown, Lancashire and others, 1765-[1910]. There is also a draft lease agreement by John Jones of Ffosfudr to William Dodd and others of Ruabon, 1742; and an extract from the conveyance of Dolrhyddlan, reserving mineral rights, 1875 (watermark 1894).
