Deeds, 1313-[1825], from the collection of Angharad Llwyd (1779-1866), antiquary, including deeds relating to the Salusbury family of Lleweni, 1313-1727, and one to the Myddelton family of of Chirk, [c.1640].

Records of the Herbert family of Montgomery, Chirbury and Powis Castle, later earls of Powis, 13-20 cent., including records of the Powis Castle estate, including title deeds, mainly in Montgomeryshire and adjacent counties, notably Shropshire, 13-20 cent.; records of lead and silver mining in Cardiganshire, 18-19 cent.; records of the Castle Island estate, County Kerry, Ireland, 16-19 cent.; manorial records for the barony of Powis from 1549, the lordship of Oswestry from 1577, the manors of Cydewain, Halcetor and Montgomery from 1525, Chirbury from 1373, Pool from 1653, the borough of Llanfyllin from 1653, and many others; records of the borough of Llanfyllin, 1674-1820 including records of the Court of Record (borough court), 1674-1721, 1761-1763; estate rentals, 1712-1941; rentals of chief rents, 1676, 1745-1897 (mainly 1745-1817); correspondence, mainly 17-19 cent.; Montgomeryshire Chartist riots papers, and papers relating to the campaign against the proposed union of the dioceses of St Asaph and Bangor. Manuscripts and papers of Edward Herbert, 1st baron Herbert of Chirbury (1583-1648); Robert Clive, 1st Baron Clive (1725-1774) and Brigadier-General John Carnac (c.1716-1800) have been removed from the archive and catalogued as separate collections.

Original manuscript of Richard Llewellyn's novel 'How Green Was My Valley' (Michael Joseph, 1939), bearing considerable revision by the author and including a rejected draft conclusion (f. 300). Complete except for seven leaves. According to a note on f. 183v, 6 [? recte 8] leaves were removed for a 1939 book exhibition; one of these (now f. 183) was subsequently found loose inside an uncorrected proof copy of the book, acquired by NLW in 1988, and returned to the original manuscript.

Seventeen cards (ff. 1-5) and letters (ff. 6-17), 1944-1945, being mainly love letters, from the novelist Richard Llewellyn to Sarah Steinman (later Mrs Sarah Steinman Harms). They were written while he was serving in Italy as a captain in the Welsh Guards and she with the American Red Cross in Rome.
Some of the letters are typescript (ff. 9-13, 15, 17) and several contain ink sketches (ff. 2 verso, 4 verso, 9, 11, 12 recto-verso). There are two letters of introduction of friends of his to Steinman (ff. 14, 16). One letter, postmark 6 May 1945 (f. 13), contains news, including an account of a V2 bomb attack near his home in London.

Papers of the Bodley House Literary Agency relating to its business with the author Richard Llewellyn [Richard David Vivian Llewellyn Lloyd], including contracts and drafts, 1937-1944, and correspondence, 1939-1948, with special reference to the play 'Poison Pen' (London, 1938), the novel 'None but the Lonely Heart' (London, 1943), negotiations for work with MGM film studios, proposed film scripts and the author's war service.

Papers, largely relating to her work, of artist and draughtswoman Vera Bassett, comprising items relating to exhibitions; draft pictorial and textual designs; correspondence; press cuttings; photographs; and miscellaneous material relating to Vera Bassett or to her family.
