A notebook containing the bidding account of John Davies, 'Account of what we received 22 Decr 1807 being our Wedding Day at The 3 Compassess' (ff. 1-6); an incomplete copy of his elegy Marwnad ar Farwolaeth Owen Rees o Gaerfyrddin ... yn 68 Oed (Caerfyrddin, 1808) (inverted text ff. 8 verso-11 verso); and sermon notes.

'Galarnad ar farwolaeth W. O. Pughe, Yswn., D.C.L., F.A.S.', being an elegy (206 lines) on the death of W[illiam] O[wen] Pughe [lexicographer, antiquary, and poet] by 'Ywain Cyfeiliog'. The present copy was folded and sent by post to R. Saunderson, junior, Bala, with the ? author's proper name 'Griffith W. Edwards, G. ab Gwilym Padarn, Llanrug near Carnarv[on]' inscribed under seal in the bottom right-hand corner of p. 4. This suggests that the poem was forwarded to be submitted for competition at an eisteddfod, and the note 'Barnwyd y Farwnad hon yn fuddugol yn Eisteddfod y Bala, 1836. . .' inserted subsequently between the title and text appears to confirm the suggestion.

An elegy to W[illiam] Hughes, [Calvinistic Methodist] minister, Llanengan, co. Caernarvon, and 'chwech Penill a'r Enllibwr', both submitted for competition at a literary meeting at Penycaera[u], 1867.

A volume relating to William Jones (ca. 1825-93), Clwt-y-bont, parish of Llanddeiniolen, co. Caernarfon, compiled, 1893, by his son Griffith Williams Jones (d. 1924), Lewisham, London, with an index of contents (f. 100 verso). It comprises transcripts of letters of condolence on the death of William Jones addressed to various members of the family, many of them from Calvinistic Methodist ministers, and of englynion in his memory by 'Dewi Arfon' and 'Eifionydd'; and press cuttings of obituaries. Iems, 1923-69, relating to Griffith Williams Jones and to Lewisham Welsh Presbyterian church, of which he was a founder member, have been added on ff. 91 verso-3.

An elegy ('Galareb') on the death of Hugh Jones ('Erfyl') on 25 May 1858, by 'Cyfaill Galarus', together with appropriate tombstone inscriptions submitted to John Owen ('Owain Alaw'), including the 'englyn' by W. Lloyd, solicitor, Ruthin, which appeared on 'Erfyl's tombstone at Llanerfyl.

An essay entitled 'Henafiaethau Llanarth a'r Cymydogaethau' (the antiquities of the Llanarth district of Cardiganshire) written by 'Ceredig ab Cunedda', 24 June, 1875, and submitted for competition at a Crown Eisteddfod held at Llanarth on 29 July, 1875. Inset is an elegy ('Galareb') on the death of Benjamin Evans, Aberaeron, by 'Omega'.

A volume of Welsh poetry, c. 1777-1803, in free and strict metres by, and probably in the autograph of, Dafydd Jones, who is styled here variously as Dafydd Jones, Book Binder, 'Dafydd Ioan Deudraeth' and 'Dafydd Deudraeth' [i.e. 'Dafydd Siôn Siâms; 1743-1831]. The contents include 'carolau plygain', 'Can o alarus Brofiad y Prydydd ar farwolaeth ei wraig a gladdwyd ..... 1786', 'Awdl ir Gwirionedd yr hyn ydoedd brif Destyn Eisteddfod y Beirdd ynhrêf Llanrwst Mihefin 14 1791', and an elegy on the death of Rob[er]t Roberts [Clynnog].

A volume made up of fourteen letters, 1819-1851, from John Jones (Tegid or Ioan Tegid, 1792-1852), Oxford and later Nevern, to various correspondents. The details are as follows: six letters, 1819-1826, to the Rev. Thomas Richards, Berriew (the education of the addressee's brother and of E. Evans [probably 'Ieuan Glan Geirionydd'], a 'cywydd' on the death of Mrs Bosanquet, literary matters, adverse criticism from the bishop of Llandaff [William van Mildert] of a proof-sheet of the edition of the Welsh Prayer Book which the writer had undertaken to superintend); four letters, 1820-1824, to the Rev. David Richards, Llansilin (the education of the addressee's younger brother [Lewis], literary matters, the addressee's marriage, etc.); one letter, 1839, to Miss Angharad Lloyd [sic] (the Liber Landavensis is now in the press, he has completed his Welsh version of Isaiah direct from the Hebrew); one letter, 1846, to Owen Williams, Waenfawr (literary matters, criticism of the addressee's proposed 'Vocabulary'); one letter, 1851, to [Ebenezer Thomas] Eben Fardd (re. adjudicating the 'pryddestau' on 'Golygfa Moses &c'); and one letter, 1850, to the Rev. Richard Richards [Meifod] (he is glad to hear of the addressee's success, a proposed monument to Bishop William Morgan and the Rev. Also included in the volume are extracts, 1845, from a manuscript of Rowland Hugh 'o'r Graienyn ger y Bala' ('Brawd Nain Ioan Tegid o du ei fam oedd Rowland Hugh'), transcripts of two letters, the originals of which are to be found in Peniarth MS 11, viz. a letter, 1847, from [John Jones] Tegid, Nevern to the Lady Charlotte E. Guest and a letter, 1860, from Tho[ma]s Stephens, Merthyr Tydfil to W. W. E. Wynne, Esq., and an outline of 'Tegid's Feet [shoes] drawn at the Vicarage Darowen at the request of ?M. D.
