A manuscript containing poetry in praise of Gruffydd Dwnn, the bulk of it being in the autograph of Gruffydd Dwnn, though pp. 12 (Rhisiart Fynglwyd), 19 ('Syr John Teg'), 22 (Sion Brwynog), 41, 69, 108, 120 (Syr Owain ap Gwilym), 73, 74 (Morgan Elfael), 132c (Huw Llŷn), and 145 (unattributed, possibly autograph) are autograph works by the respective authors. Many of the poems are dated. Pp. 147-156 are in the holograph of Huw Llŷn (see notes on pp. 149, 153). P. 17 is inscribed 'ai kant pan oeddid yn kwplav y plas [nyr ystrad merthyr] o. k. 1533'. An inscription on p. 49 notes Syr Owain ap Gwilym as being 'ap Ieuan o dal y llynn' and, in relation to the poem, 'ai gwnaeth i ryffydd dwnn o hiraeth am rvffydd ag o eisse i weled ac ai danovones ynysgrifenedig i ryffyth donn' (see Peniarth MS 70, which evidently once belonged to the Gruffydd Dwnn Collection). P. 77 is inscribed probably in the hand of Gruffydd Dwnn (relating to the date 1533) 'pan oedd rys [the eldest son of Gruffydd Dwnn] yn 11 mlwydd oed. I mayr kywydd hwnn yn ysgrifenedig mywn llyfr arall i ryffydd Dwnn kyfaillt y llyfr hwnn'. On p. 83 the name of 'syr John teg' has been crossed out and that of 'Gyttvn Owein' [Gutun Owain] substituted, though Gutun Owain was dead long before the poem's date of 1526; the text, however, appears to be in the autograph of Gruffydd Dwnn. The last line of the poem beginning at p. 87 may not belong to the first as pp. 89-90 are missing. P. 104 is inscribed, apparently in the hand of Huw Llŷn in relation to the author of the work, Morus Dwyfech, 'ai kant pann oedd o. k. 1560 ac ynn hir llyn i gwnnaeth ef y ddau englynn hynn'. P. 126 is inscribed in the hand of Gruffydd Dwnn 'I mayr varnad honn yn ysgrifenedig yn y llyfr lle may englynyon yr eryr o law y gwr ai gwnaeth yr hwn lyfr a wnaeth gryffydd dwnn iddo i hyn yn gyntaf oll ond vn llyfr arall'. P. 144 is inscribed in the hand of Gruffydd Dwnn 'gyttvn owein ai kant i ryffydd dwnn' (although, according to the date of the poem, Gruffydd Dwnn was an infant at the time of its writing). P. 147 is inscribed (in relation to Wiliam Cynwal, the author of the englynion) 'a Gant y chwech englyn hynn yni ynnwedic lythr at ruffudd dwnn 1566' (only the fifth and sixth englyn of this series remain).
This is one of the manuscripts mentioned in Mostyn MS 184. Gwenogvryn (J. Gwenogvryn Evans, Report on Manuscripts in the Welsh Language, vol. II, part II (London, 1903), p. 503) debates whether the englynion addressed to 'Gr: Dwnn o Gydweli' on at pp. 132-132b are in the hand of Owain Gwynedd.

At the beginning is a list of poets whose titles were taken from Y Greal and a list of titles of poems transcribed in full. The collection was compiled during the period 1855-9, although the fly-leaf bears the scribe's name dated 1863. The second collection, beginning at the end, is entitled 'Y Gell Gynen, ('herwydd canau cynen sydd ynddo') and contains fliting poems ('ymrysongerddi') between Edmwnt Prys and William Cynwal and Sion Philip and Edmunt Prys, together with additional 'cywyddau' by Edmunt Prys. This section of the manuscript was compiled between 1844 and 1846, but there are some additions of the period 1859-61. Recorded on the upper end paper are timber purchase accounts of Owen Williams, 1844-5. The manuscript is lettered on the spine 'Owain Gwyrfai MS'.

Miscellaneous papers in the hand of Edward Williams ('Iolo Morganwg') bound together in one volume. P. 19 is inscribed 'Historical Anecdotes of Dunraven Castle in the County of Glamorgan . . . Compiled from Authentic Historical MSS. in the Welsh Language by Edward Williams . . . 1814', and is followed by pp. 27-54, a pseudo - historical account of the princes or kings of Siluria and Glamorgan from the time of Bran fab Llyr to the time of Owain, son of Hywel Dda, these princes or rulers being linked with Dunraven; pp. 59-76, similar notes bringing the story down to the time of Gwrgan, possibly the great-great-grandson of Hywel Dda; and pp. 106-15, genealogical notes relating to the Wyndham family of Dunraven (see also N.LW MS 13114B above). Other items include pp. 133-81, extracts of varying length, some very copious, from the 'cywyddau' of Edmund Prys and Wiliam Cynwal presumably mainly to exemplify certain words and phrases; pp. 182- 203, 229-49, further extracts of varying length from the works of various Welsh bards again mainly to illustrate or provide examples of certain words and names, e.g. Hu, Huon, Hu Gadarn, Gal, Gwal, etc., and a copy of an 'awdl' attributed to Siôn Brwynog; pp. 211-14, incomplete notes headed 'Anecdotes of the making of Iron in Glamorgan'; pp. 263-74, 287-93, a tract entitled 'Preface to Paul's Triades'; pp. 299-327, a series of one hundred and seventy Welsh triads entitled 'Trioedd Pawl' (for text and English version see J. Miscellaneous papers containing lists, notes, etc., in the hand of Edward Williams ('Iolo Morganwg') bound together in one volume. The contents consist largely of groups or lists of Welsh words. Included are lists with the superscriptions 'Geiriadur William Cynwal o Lyfr William Morys' with an added note 'medd Llyfr Dr. Williams o Gaernarfon o ba un y cymmerais i ef. I[orwer]th G[wily]m' (an incomplete alphabetical list A-D only; pp. 7- 38); 'Extracts from an old vocabulary' (pp. 111-13); 'Coincidences of Silurian and Cornish' (an incomplete alphabetical list A-G only; pp. 145- 60); 'Welsh Words from the Welsh Orbis Pictus (Merthyr)' (pp. 163-4); 'Cannons of Etymology' (pp. 171-3); 'North Walicisms' (p. 210); 'Welsh words collected in N[orth] W[ales]' (pp. 219-?20); 'Terms in sacred poetry, &c.' (p. 343); and '[Words from the] Gododin' (p. 375); and lists or groups without superscriptions. The Welsh words are often followed by English definitions or equivalents and the lists which appear on pp. 95- 110, 115-17, 127-8, 131-42, and 145-60 also give Breton or Cornish cognates. Pp. 255-69 contain an incomplete list of words (A-I only) with the superscription 'Welsh words from the Cotton MS.'. The words in this instance, however, are not Welsh but Cornish and correspond to those to be found in the old Cornish vocabulary which appears in [British Museum] Cottonian MS [Vespasian A. xiv] (see Henry Lewis: Llawlyfr Cernyweg Canol (Caerdydd, 1946), tt. 2-3. Internal evidence suggests that the present list may have been copied from that published in William Pryce: Archaeologia Cornu-Britannica . . . (Sherborne, 1790)). Also included in the volume are notes headed 'Deuddeg prif ragorgamp Cerdd dafod' (p. 170), a note on 'The Yniales Vocabulary . . . original (sic) compiled in this form by Hopkin ap Thomas . . .' (p. 174), a list of Glamorgan idioms (pp. 175-6), extracts from John Jones: The Tower of Babel or Essays on the confusion of tongues ( pp. 199-200), four stanzas of Welsh verse attributed to Watkin Powel 'o Ben y Fai' (p. 293), a list headed 'Barbarisms of Wm.
