The remainder is in several hands of the late seventeenth or early eighteenth century. There are copious annotations by William Maurice and some additions and annotations by Cadwaladr Dafydd, Llanymowddwy (1747) and L[ewis] Morris ('Llewelyn Ddu o Fôn', 1701-65).

Philip, 'Y Peniaith galluog ...' by Lewis Penllyn, and other free-metre poems; 'cywyddau' by Doctor Sion Kent, Sion Mowddwy, Sion Tvdvr, Mr Edmwnd Prvs, Sr. Davidd Trefor, Robert Clidro, Robin Ddv, Dafydd Lloyd, Iolo Goch, and Mredydd ab Rhys, and anonymous poems.

Beginning from the end, in later hands, are lists of preachers heard on undated occasions; extracts from addresses or essays of a didactic nature; lists of books; entries of births, etc., 1859-67, of members of the family of Love Hughes Owen; undated particulars of collections at Talysarn [Caernarvonshire]; a memorandum of the foundation of the Building Society at Talysarn, 1865; a pledge by Robert Williams, 1866, to abstain from the chewing and smoking of tobacco ('I ba arferiad y bum yn ddarostyngiedig er yn 6 mlwydd oed'); a catechism ('Holiadau') on Chapter 3 of [Thomas Charles:] Hyfforddwr (Bala, 1807); etc.

A manuscript containing an alphabetical list of poets and authors (most with abbreviations for the names and floruits appended) and literary and historical works (e.g. Brut y Tywysogion, Buchedd St Margaret); a list of Welsh proverbs, all starting with 'ni' or 'nid'; poetry, nearly all in the form of 'englynion', mainly by Owen Gruffydd 'o blwy Llanystynd[wy]' and Absalom Roberts of Llanrwst, with a few 'englynion' by John Prichard Prys, Edward Morus, Ellis Rolant, Sion Dafydd and anonymous; on the last page (24) there are epitaphs in verse to Anne and Cathrin Roberts of Goppa, who died in 1780.

A notebook in the hand of Morris Davies, Bangor containing 'Select Extracts' from printed sources (e.g. the introduction to W. Williams: Caniadau y rhai sydd ar y Môr o Wydr (3ydd arg., 1764); poetry in strict and free metres by [John Jones] 'Tegid', [Daniel Evans] 'Daniel Ddu o Geredigion', Huw Morus, [Thomas Edwards] 'Caerfallwch', Rice Jones [o'r Blaenau] and [David Richards] 'Dafydd Ionawr'; an account of 'The Musical Idiot' in the Salpêtrière at Paris; extracts from William Owen-Pughe: Coll-Gwynfa (Llundain, 1819); and metrical proverbs by 'Richard (Risiart) Dlawd'.

A composite manuscript lettered 'BARDDONIAETH &c.' on the spine. The volume, which contains 'englynion', 'carolau' and pedigrees, is written for the most part (ff. 1-52 verso and 75 verso-101 verso) by Wiliam Dafydd Llywelyn of Llangynidr (c. 1520-1606) (cf. NLW MS 15542B). Another hand is responsible for ff. 53- 75, but Wiliam Dafydd Llywelyn appears to have annotated this middle section. Folio 6 verso carries an eighteenth century list of payments, and folio 7 verso is blank. The contents are: ff. 1-2 verso, part of the story of 'Trystan ac Esyllt' (cf. A composite volume containing verse and prose written in various hands, mainly of the 17th and 18th centuries, with additions of the 18th century.

A volume of transcripts of Welsh poetry. The first fifty-one folios contain copies, in a 16th-century hand, of 'cywyddau' by Siôn Cent, Iolo Goch, Dafydd ap Gwilym, Madog Benfras, Gruffudd Gryg, Dafyddd ab Edmwnd, Iorwerth Fynglwyd, Tudur Aled, Dafydd Nanmor and others. The remainder of the volume (ff. 52-147) is in several hands of the end of the 17th century. At the head of f. 52 is the following note:- 'Haec sequens Collectio facta fuit Opera P.V.A.M. ...', the initials probably representing the name of Peter Vaughan, M.A., who was vicar of Llangernyw from 1682 to 1689. This part of the manuscript contains the names and arms of the fifteen tribes of Gwynedd; pedigrees of some Abergele families (among them that of Peter Vaughan himself) taken from the books of Sion Tudur and Rhys Cain; an account of the five residences of Sir Roger Mostyn in 1682; poetry in strict and free metres by Sion Tudur, Morus Dwyfech, Richard Phylip, Gryffydd Phylip, Guto'r Glyn, Maredudd ap Rhys, Edmwnd Prys, Lewis Glyn Cothi and others; etc.

Lewis, Iolo Goch, Gutto or Glynn, Richard Kynwal, Robt ap Rees Wynn ('o Arianog'), Rowland Vychan, Richard Kynfol, Y Prydydd Hael, Evan Deulwyn, Doctor Sion Kent, Edward Mayelor, D'd ap Gwilim, Tudur Aled, Risiart Gele, Sion Tudur, Simwnt Vychan, Ievan Gethin ap Ie'nn ap Lleision, Evan Lloyd brydydd, Madog Benfras, Howel Gethin, Llowdden, Sion Phillip, Robt. Later additions include a few medical recipes and copious marginal arithmetical calculations. The text, according to a note by J. H. Davies on the fly-leaf, was used by the writer of NLW MS 717, and the manuscript in fact bears an example of his hand. The spine is lettered 'Poetry'.

An incomplete and badly mutilated manuscript of the early seventeenth century containing 'cywyddau' by Gruffith ap Ieuan, Ifann Deulwyn, Bedo Aerddrain, Llywelyn ap D'd Fychan, Sion Tudur, Lewis Mon, Dafydd ap Gwilim, etc., and anonymous 'englynion'. The poems are written on the dorse of folded late sixteenth century answers to interrogatories in legal actions.

A collection in several hands of 'cerddi', 'penillion', 'dyrïau' and 'englynion' by Moris Roberts (Morris A Pro[bert]), Hugh Morris, Lewis o Rydonen ('y Mhlwy Llantysilio'), [William Roberts] 'Clochydd Llannor' (1747) and John Edwards (1747), and anonymous poems. A part of the volume may be in the hand of John Jones, 1747. Bound into the volume is a notice, 20 June 1828, from the church-wardens and overseers of the poor of the parish of Llanfihangel, Montgomeryshire to the churchwardens and overseers of the poor of the parish of Llangyniew of a proposed appeal against a removal order by the Court of Quarter Sessions. Mounted on the blank dorse of one leaf is a printed prospectus of Y Gwyliedydd [1822].

A volume of 'cywyddau', etc. transcribed by W[illiam] H[enry] Mounsey in 1859 from manuscripts in the British Museum ('Barddoniaeth sef Casgliad O Waith Beirdd Cymru. Tynwyd allan y Casgiad hwn O Ysgriflyfrau yn yr Amgueddfa Brydeinig Genyf fi, Wiliam Henri Mounsey O Gaerliwelyd [sic] yn Sir Cwmberland. 1859'), together with annotations by D. Silvan Evans. The poets represented are Iolo Goch, Llywelyn Moel y Pantri, Gruffydd Gryg, Iorwerth Cyriog, Gutto'r Glyn, Iorwerth Vynglwyd, Lewis Morganwg, Sefnyn, Sippyn Cyfeiliog, Syr D[afydd] Trefor, Robin Ddu ('hynaf, o Fôn'), Rhys Goch Eryri, Doctor Sion Cent, Rhys Brydydd, Llawdden, Dafydd Nanmor, Dafydd ap Edmwnt, Guttyn Owain, Deio ap Ieuan Du, Llewelyn ap Guttyn, Gruffydd Hiraethog, William Cynwal, Sion Tudur, William Lleyn, Morus Kyffin, Mredydd ap Rhys, Robert Dai Llwyd and Sion Gruffudd ('o Llanddyfnan'). There is a list of contents ('Cynnwysiad') at the beginning of the volume. Among the illustrations and cut-outs mounted on the fly-leaves and in blank spaces in the manuscript are engravings of Montgomery Castle, the Fall of the Ogwen, Conway Tubular Bridge and Castle, Llyn Idwall, Rhaiadr Du near Tan y Bwlch, Moel y Gest, Denbigh, Snowden [sic] and Llanberis Lake, Valle Cruces Abbey and Pont Aberglaslyn. The spine is lettered 'Casgliad o Waith Beirdd Cymru. W. H. Mounsey. 1859'.

Two notebooks in the autograph of John Jones ('Myrddin Fardd') containing transcripts of 'cywyddau', etc. by the following poets: Wiliam Llyn, Huw Llyn, Morys Dwyfech, Lewis Daron, Sion Wyn Owain, Kadwaladr Kesel, Huw Machno, Edmwnd Prys, Sion Philipp, Gruffydd Phylips, Huw Pennant, Lewis Menai, Wiliam Kynwal, Rissiart Philip, Richard Kynwal, Rhus Kain, Howel Reinallt, Sion Brwynog, Watkin Klewedog, Morgan ap Huw Lewis, Inco Brydydd, Dafydd Na[n]mor, Gruffudd Grug, Iolo Goch, Owain Waed da and Llywelyn Goch ap Meurig hên. Nearly all the poems are eulogies of, or elegies on , persons from Llŷn and Eifionydd. On the first page of MS 507 is the following note by J. H. Davies: 'Codwyd o lawysgrif Mr J. Glyn Davies ? Gan Myrddin Fardd' and it seems probable that the contents of MS 507 and the first ten items in MS 508 were transcribed from J. Glyn Davies MS 2 (though not in the same order), perhaps with a view to publication. The remaining poems appear to have been transcribed from various sources, including Cwrtmawr MS 454. Pasted in after the poems in MS 508 are two newspaper cuttings relating to 'Phylipiaid Ardudwy'.

A volume containing poetry ('cywyddau', 'englynion', etc.) and a few prose items transcribed by the Reverend Owen Jones (1833-99) from various manuscript and printed sources, chiefly NLW MS 644 ('Llyfr Robert Hwmffra'), NLW MS 560 (Celynog 34), which is referred to here as 'MSS D', Bangor MS 15599, referred to here as 'MSS B = S[iôn] P[owel]', and a manuscript referred to as 'Bodilan MSS'. M,, Efan ab Ridsiard, Robert John Evan, E. Thomas, Edward Davies, [Siôn Tudur], John Philips, Dr. [?Sr] Gr. fain, Lewis Lloyd, E. ?M., Moris ab Robert or Bala, Lewis Sion, William Humphrey and Thomas Lloyd ienga o Benma(e)n. The prose items include 'Achau'r Cwrw ai fonedd ai Hanes ai Gyneddfau ai wrthiau' from an unnamed source. There is also a copy of 'Cywydd am Enedigaeth a dyfodiad ein Iachawdwr Iesu Grist i'r byd yn y Cnawd ...' by Huw Huws o Fon (source not given).

Other items are a note on John (Siôn) Cain Jones ('Siôn Ceiriog') and press cuttings, etc. concerning the Reverend John Owen (Ty'n llwyn) Penyberth (1808-76), also referred to as John Owen y Gwyndy.

A scrap-book compiled, with a holograph introduction and table of authors, by David Evans, Llanrwst containing press cuttings, largely from Llais y Wlad, 1875-?81, of 'cywyddau' and 'awdlau', with annotations. The poetry consists mainly of the flyting 'cywyddau' of Edmwnd Prys and William Cynwal ('Yr Ymrysonfeydd rhwng Edmwnd Prys, Archddiacon Meirionydd, a William Cynwal, Prydydd ac Arwyddfardd') and 'cywyddau' ('Cyfansoddiadau') by Dafydd Llwyd ab Llywelyn ab Gruffydd Fychan. The greater part of the volume was probably transcribed by the Evan William whose name, in his own hand, appears on pp. 62, 83 (1775), and 121. 'Evan Williams, Gardener', referred to in the margin of p. 63 as the owner of the volume in 1779, is possibly the same person.
